Persephone's Tiara

This site is available from BARN, BIMA, and Bloedel Reserve. You'll need to allow location services and your camera to be used to experience wearing Persephone's Tiara.

Persephone's Tiara represents plants I encountered over visits to Bloedel Reserve on Bainbridge Island during my time as a 2025 Community Creative incorporated into a wearable headpiece for Persephone. Mythology would focus on Persephone’s presence or absence driving the change of seasons. Here fern, salal, sarcococca, and oxalis from the continuous verdant backdrop at the Reserve are placed alongside showy high-summer lace hydrangea and dahlias, counter to a binary narrative of blooming or barren nature.
